Since 2017, Degens (previously known as SportCrypt) has been the #1 sports betting exchange on Ethereum. Players love that Degens never touches their money, betting happens directly from their Ethereum wallet using DAI and ETH, that we cannot censor winners, and that we have the industry lowest fees averaging 0.5% on winning wagers.
It has been a long-standing goal of ours to build up a community-based grading system. To do this, we’ve deployed an ERC-20 token named DEGENS at address 0xdd039990bd551ce7437d3bf54d155220b7988b71. To distribute the tokens we’re doing a uniswap-style airdrop to distribute tokens to everyone who has ever placed a bet on SportCrypt or Degens, or interacted with our smart contract via a bot or custom interface.
The DEGENS supply is fixed at 1,192,720 tokens, of which 269,185 (22.5%) are being airdropped. Everyone who used our smart contract prior to Ethereum block 11,111,111 can claim 20 tokens plus 5 tokens for every interaction, up to a maximum of 5,000. The remainder of the tokens will be vested over 1–4 year periods and are owned by the founders, investors, and our growing team (most of whom started out as users of our platform). As these tokens vest, we will be contributing more of them to a market making rewards system, which will align participants with our platform’s goals moving forward:

We are not selling DEGENS tokens and we don’t consider them to have any inherent value, but they will be useful to participate in the growing Degens community, and allow token possessors to earn profit by helping to grade events.
